Probable Celtics Starters
G Isaiah Thomas, 5-9, Washington
G Avery Bradley, 6-2, Texas

F Amir Johnson, 6-9, Westchester High School
C Jared Sullinger, 6-9, Ohio State
What We Need To Know About The Celtics
The Boston Celtics are going all in with youth, including their coach Brad Stevens and their stockpile of future draft picks. They do not have a primary scorer but multiple players who can do the job including Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Jared Sullinger, and even bench support with Evan Turner, Tyler Zeller, David Lee, and Kelly Olynyk. They will be without their young up and coming point guard Marcus Smart who has a toe injury, but Thomas has filled in incredibly averaging 22 points and 7.5 assists so far this season. Looking at their lineup they do have a huge size disadvantage with Thomas being under six feet, and Sullinger only being 6-9 starting at center, but they make it up in shooting and their size off the bench.
Probable Bucks Starters
G Tyler Ennis, 6-3, Syracuse
G Khris Middleton, 6-8, Texas A&M
F Giannis Antetokounmpo, 6-11, Greece
F Jabari Parker, 6-8, Duke
C Greg Monroe, 6-11, Georgetown
The Bucks up and down their lineup have the obvious size advantage, so how can Bradley, Crowder and Sullinger defend Middleton, Jabari, Giannis and Monroe? It will be very difficult for those players to defend the Bucks jump shooting and/or their post offense; Likewise oppositely on defense. The size for the Celtics could be made up on their bench with their bigs, who have taken turns being even the leading scorers for the team in past games this season. Zeller, Olynyk, and Lee could counteract the Bucks lack of size on their bench but the Celtics would give up shooting since Marcus Smart is injured.
Bucks Keys To Victory
The Bucks must use their size advantage to overpower the Celtics; both on the perimeter and around the basket. If they get more rebounds and opportunities to shoot open shots they will win. Milwaukee must also maintain that shooting off the bench with Bayless who has been hot and Vasquez who has been largely inconsistent to start the season. John Henson and Johnny O’Bryant must use their size off the bench to counteract the Celtics bench bigs, to maintain the starters’ probable rebounds and ability to bully in the paint on both sides of the ball. Whoever can produce more off the bench will probably win the game. Lastly mentally, the Bucks must continue to ride the high of their winning streak because they now believe they are the team that many have hyped them to be over the offseason, after starting off 0-3.
It’s an old school rivalry with now young studs participating, but it’s a game the Bucks can win because of their size, athleticism, and new mentality of winning.
