What We Need To Know About The Mavericks
Even though they lost the DeAndre Jordan sweepstakes during the offseason the Mavericks were still anticipated to have a good season with the acquisitions of all-star point guard Deron Williams, sharpshooter Wesley Mathews and veteran center/former Buck Zaza Pachulia. Posting a 17-13 record which is fifth in the Western Conference the Mavs are meeting all expectations so far especially after an impressive December which included a 118-111 victory against Chicago Saturday. With Williams absent with a hamstring strain, Barea went 7 of 8 from the three point line finishing with 26 points, and Nowitzki passed Shaquille O’Neal for sixth all time in NBA scoring. Former Buck Zaza Pachulia has had a very impressive season for the Mavericks starting all 30 games and averaging 10 points and 10 rebounds which includes 16 double-doubles this season.
Probable Bucks Lineup
G Michael Carter-Williams, 6-6, Syracuse
G Khris Middleton, 6-8, Texas A&M
F Giannis Antetokounmpo, 6-11, Greece
F Jabari Parker, 6-8, Duke
C Greg Monroe, 6-11, Georgetown
Bucks Keys To Victory
What the Mavericks have shown throughout the season so far is consistency up and down their lineup. All their players are offensively minded while they have the size to play defense. Chandler Parsons as sixth man has the ability to go off on a big scoring night in any game, as he has shown to do that in his career as a starter. The big matchup will be at the center position as Monroe takes on Pachulia; a note is Monroe has only one less double-double this season than Pachulia. Whoever has the better night, their team has a large chance to walk out with the victory. Another crucial factor the Bucks must limit is the amount of points they give up during the third and fourth quarters. In all games they have lead and then lost they have given up huge leads during those periods of the game and that has probably been the biggest problem for this Milwaukee team this season along with chemistry. Milwaukee is in need of a marquee road victory especially against a Western Conference team and if they play team basketball throughout they can get that victory against Dallas.
