What We Need To Know About The Warriors
What isn’t there to say that hasn’t been said about the Golden State Warriors? They are off to the greatest start in the history of American professional sports, they are the defending NBA World Champions, and Steph Curry is the current reigning MVP. What isn’t mentioned much is what they have been through this season, as they don’t even have their head coach Steve Kerr because he’s recovering from back surgery as well as starting small forward Harrison Barnes who sprained his ankle earlier this season. Klay Thompson and Leandro Barbosa are also questionable. Through the travel, the back to back games, the injuries, the target on their backs for being the NBA Champs as well as undefeated they have not lost a game this season. Curry has been having an even more impressive season so far than his MVP season averaging 32.5 points a game along with 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Thompson has also tacked on 18 points along with Draymond Green’s 13.5 to make the Warriors one of the most dangerous offensive and defensive teams in the NBA; a key reason they are 24-0. Lastly the Warriors know how to finish games. If they are ahead they will close it; if they are behind they will comeback in immaculate ways and still win. That is another huge reason they are currently undefeated.
Probable Bucks Lineup
G O.J. Mayo, 6-5, Southern California
G Khris Middleton, 6-8, Texas A&M
F Giannis Antetokounmpo, 6-11, Greece
F Jabari Parker, 6-8, Duke
C Greg Monroe, 6-11, Georgetown
Bucks Keys To Victory
It’s really hard to say since through all the things mentioned before the Warriors managed to still be undefeated but the Bucks must take advantage of Golden State’s tiredness. This is mentioned because they are on a road trip to the other side of the country and they were taken to double overtime by the Boston Celtics last night. The extra playing time 24 hours before along with being on the road would make any team tired and Golden State isn’t an exception. The Bucks also must defend the three which Golden State has made that almost impossible against all of their opponents. This can be done if they do not over defend Steph Curry, because he will score his points no matter what. The problem is the Warriors’ other players who can score like Thompson who is a tall, tremendous shooter as well as Green and Andre Iguodala off the bench. The Bucks must find a way to take one of those players out of the game and not worry about Curry as much because the only person who can stop him is him. Lastly the Bucks must play the game with a hunter mentality. They have nothing to lose while Golden State has almost everything to lose. The Bradley Center will be packed and hot, ready to see potential history.
