If this is your first time checking out king of the court pieces, here’s what you can look forward to seeing.
Every Monday we will look at which Milwaukee Buck stood out from a game changing performance, or provided consistent production over a one week span. We will do the same for one other player within the central division (Bulls, Pacers, Pistons, Cavaliers).
Unfortunately, Bucks fans are currently having to deal with a five game losing streak dating back to last Sunday.
King of the Court- Giannis Antetokounmpo
The Greek Freak has been the only real standout over the past week for Milwaukee. The first time all-star averaged 24 points, 10.3 rebounds, four assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks. His assist numbers are slightly down from his season average of 5.6. This isn’t down because Giannis isn’t passing enough, this regression has been at the expense of his teammates, who have not been finishing as many possessions off Giannis’ assist-attempts as we are accustomed to seeing. Sooner or later the Bucks will snap out of their little funk and Giannis should see his assist numbers go back to normal.
King of the Court- Marcus Morris
The Pistons are currently riding a three game win streak. The recent play of forward Marcus Morris has greatly contributed to that. During their recent wins over the Lakers, Hawks, and Wizards, Morris has put together solid averages of 20.7 points, 10 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. He also tipped in the game winner to seal the deal against Washington. Prior to Detroit, Morris has played in Houston, and alongside his brother in Phoenix. He was never a steady member of either rotations. But Stan Van Gundy has enough faith in him to have him in the starting lineup, and his numbers over the past two seasons in Detroit have been the best of his five-year career.
