Fresh off of a 110-103 victory over the Washington Wizards, ESPN is reporting that the Milwaukee Bucks will indeed sign Xaxier Munford of the Wisconsin Herd to a 2-way contract.
With DeAndre Liggins likely being cut to make way for Munford, this seemed like the most logical option for the Milwaukee Bucks. For the G-League Herd this season, he is averaging a stellar 24.1 points per game, 5 rebounds, 5.4 assists all while shooting 52.5% from the floor and a robust 47.6% from three. The Milwaukee Bucks desperately need a spark off the bench, and hopefully, Xavier will provide it.
The NBA is a whole different animal from the G-League, and it will be interesting to see how Munford’s game adjusts to the pros. With the Bucks only playing 3 players off the bench, the addition will hopefully help stagger the minutes for Eric Bledsoe, Khris Middleton, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks need Xavier Munford to stretch the floor and knock down triples off the bench, something that Milwaukee has lacked all season. Perhaps this is the spark the Bucks bench needs to regain confidence.
