It became apparent during the 2017-2018 season that the Wisconsin Badgers could use some more ball handling and scoring help in the backcourt.
And that help is coming in the form of 6’2 point guard Tai Strickland, a three star recruit from Tampa, Florida who is the son of former NBA Player Rod Strickland.

Strickland, who chose the Badgers over rival Big Ten schools Minnesota and Rutgers joins Taylor Currie and Joe Hedstrom as the third member of the 2018 Wisconsin recruiting class after Whitnall product Tyler Herro decomitted and signed with Kentucky.
During his junior and senior seasons at Tampa Catholic High School Strickland averaged over 13 ppg.
The point guard who is ranked No. 53 in his 2018 class according to 247Sports brings more depth to the backcourt alongside sophomore D’Mitrik Trice after his medical redshirt, and sophomore Brad Davison for the 2018-2019 season.
