Even more so than other NFL GMs, Ted Thompson has done an especially great job in recruiting and making solid pieces out of undrafted free agents (UDFAs). As for this year, who are the UDFAs who will be looking to make an under-the-radar impact in Green Bay this year? Let’s take a look.

Potential Camp Standouts

QB Taysom Hill

Being the lone QB in this crop of players, it is very possible that Hill will be, at the very least, the most talked about player. However, I don’t see him being the most successful, but he may earn himself a shot. He was fairly successful overall as a member of the Cougars, including his 2016 discussed above. Especially with sudden trade rumors regarding backup QB Brett Hundley surfacing in recent days, look for Hill to possibly slot himself onto the depth chart, if not on the practice squad, in 2017.

P Justin Vogel

Once again, Ted Thompson has elected to bring in another punter for competition during training camp. However, Vogel will this time be hoping to push incumbent Jacob Schum, instead of Tim Masthay as has been the case in the past. Were he to beat out Schum, Vogel would bring a level of athleticism that has not been seen in some time, if ever, to the position for Green Bay, as well as a solid foot to boot. Punter may end up being one of the better position battles at Ray Nitschke field this summer.
