It’s hard to believe that the Packers playoff hopes are still alive. Seemingly nothing has gone right this year. We’ve all seen the scenarios, the Packers have to win their remaining three games and get some help. That starts with beating the Bears in Chicago. The Packers have won nine straight games at Soldier Field, but haven’t been as big of an underdog as they’ll be on Sunday.

Having a healthy offensive line will be very important if the Packers want to keep their playoff hopes alive. Last week they were missing 3/5 of their starting line, and this week it doesn’t look much better. The Packers placed guard Byron Bell on IR and signed guard Nico Siragusa from the Ravens practice squad. Justin McCray will take over for Byron Bell. Two bigger names that DNP in practice were tackle Bryan Bulaga and guard Lane Taylor. If Bulaga can’t go, we could see Jason Spriggs blocking Kahlil Mack.

Coming off his best game with the Packers, CB Bashaud Breeland was not at practice. A post on his social media account suggests that Breeland is dealing with the death of a close friend. He and rookie CB Jaire Alexander are forming a nice duo at CB and it would be nice to see them continue to play well. I am in favor of the Packers resigning Breeland this offseason.

Kenny Clark has been the Packers best defensive player this season. He has been one of the best interior defensive linemen in the NFL actually. He hurt his elbow against the Falcons but was able to return. Hopefully the fact he didn’t practice is just a precaution and he will be able to go on Sunday. The Packers former best defensive player Clay Matthews is coming off far and away his best game of the season. He was a limited participant with that same ankle injury he’s been dealing with for a couple weeks. Odds are he will be out there on Sunday.

Randall Cobb hasn’t been good in a while, but for some reason he seems to always make big plays against the Bears. He was a limited participant with that same hamstring issue he’s had seemingly all season. Let’s hope Cobb can go so he can make one more big play for the Packers before he’s wearing a different uniform next season. Another bad contract for the Packers is on the injury report. No surprise that TE Jimmy Graham is obviously still dealing with that thumb broken thumb.

It’s far from a guarantee, but a win on Sunday would go a long way in the Packers sneaking into the playoffs. After the Bears they play the Jets and the Lions. No game in the NFL is easy, but compared to the Bears the other two are.
