The Bucks (5-7) will take on the Pacers (7-5) this Saturday night looking to snap their 2 game losing skid. Last in action against the Cavaliers on Thursday Giannis shone bright dropping a career high 33 points. The Pacers last played Wednesday beating the 76ers handily, Paul George posted 34 points 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Paul George is looking like the top 10 player he was before that devastating injury in the Team USA game. This will also be the first time the Bucks face Monta Ellis in a Pacers uniform, Monta spent one and a half years with the Bucks and while Monta at 30 is not the dynamic scorer he was 4 years ago in Milwaukee he is still an offensive force.
Pacer to Watch: Paul George
I personally could not stand the Pacers from 2011-2013 the slow it down grit it out with Hibbert and West was effective, but it sucked for viewing. Paul George was always the exception to that he is an electric athlete that can fill it up outside and then dunk over you inside. George is having a monster year averaging 25 points 8 rebounds and 5 assists a match, but I am more interested in who he will guard tonight. He is listed at and has played primarily power forward this year, which would lead one to believe Jabari, but he has always said he will guard the best player on the opposing team, that is clearly Giannis. Either way I am excited to see what our young forwards can do against one of the league’s premier defenders.
Buck to Watch: Jabari Parker
Jabari scored 14 in his return action against the Cavaliers. he has been dunking left and right all year. I want to see him take advantage of any lesser opponents he gets matched up with, as there should be no way a guy like Lavoy Allen or CJ Miles can check Jabari. He also needs to become a presence on the boards, the Bucks have been continually slaughtered on the defensive glass and part of that is Parker not boxing out.
Matchup to Watch: Michael Carter-Williams Vs George Hill
George Hill had a breakout season last year and remains a key cog for the Pacers offense, if MCW can slow him down and outplay him on offense it would go a long ways towards securing a Bucks victory. Carter-Williams is also key to the Bucks becoming stronger on the glass, as a tall point guard his efforts could go a long way.
