Offensive Player of the Week: Preseason Week 2

The Packers fan made it very clear who they wanted for the offensive player of the week for week 2 as chants roared down from the stadium for “Kuuuuuuuuummmmmmm”.A somewhat homage to dearly departed fan favorite John Kuhn.

That’s right Jake Kumerow was the star of Thursday night, leading the charge for the Packers offensive as they boat raced the Steelers to a 51-34 victory.

You can argue that his player of the game status was from one play, and you would be partially right. Early in the third quarter Kumerow ran an out route and Steelers Safety tried to under-cut the route and gambled and lost. Allowing for Kumerow to win a foot race to the end-zone for an 82 yard reception.

Kumerow finished the night leading the team in both receptions (3) and yards (114)

There might be a new cult favorite player for the Packers. With the likes of John Kuhn, Johnny Jolly and Jared Abbredaris to name a few cult fan favorites that are no longer on the roster there is a void that needs to be filled, and I have a feeling that if Jake Kumerow makes the 53 man roster which all signs are pointing to yes than he would be a great new cult Packers fan favorite.

Also mini shoutout player of the week to all four of the Packers quarterbacks as they all played tremendously, even Brett Hundley had his moments.
